Wu Lei’s last-minute victory: RCD Espanyol helps Chinese football to fight for the World Cup

On 8 October Beijing time, the China Men's Football Team defeated Vietnam by 3-2 in the third round of the Asian qualifying competition round of 12 for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Wu Lei, a player of RCD Espanyol, a subsidiary of Rastar Group , played the whole match for the China Men's Football Team and scored 2 goals to contribute to the China Men's Football Team's first victory in the round of 12, and was selected as the best player of the match.

 

 

In January 2019, Wu Lei joined RCD Espanyol, and became the first Chinese player to score in La Liga, King's Cup, UEFA Cup and the first Chinese player to break through Barcelona's goal.

 

Wu Lei has had a remarkable performance in this year's World Cup qualifying competition, scoring 10 goals and delivering 3 assists in 11 games. His 10 goals in the World Cup qualifying competition also made him the highest goal scorer in the history of the Chinese football team in a single World Cup qualifying competition. So far, Wu Lei has scored a total of 25 goals for the Chinese football team, which is tied for sixth on the Chinese football team's record scorers list.
