Release time:2026-05-24 15:10

On May 23, 2026, at the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, the launch ceremony for the 2026 Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Bearers Seed Program and an exchange meeting on innovative integration and development of ICH were held. Representatives from game companies, including Rastar Games, ICH craft practitioners and higher education institutions exchanged ideas on digital games, digital assets and industry-education integration, contributing new approaches to the digital development of ICH.

At the meeting, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee of the Guangzhou Game Industry Association was officially inaugurated. The committee brings together the Guangdong ICH Communication and Development Workstation, leading game companies such as Rastar Games, and more than ten national- and provincial-level ICH inheritors representing traditional crafts and practices such as Guangxiu embroidery, Guangcai porcelain, Shiwan ceramic sculpture, gambiered Canton gauze, lion dance, Wing Chun and Tai Chi. It aims to establish a professional service platform linking government, businesses and ICH inheritors.

The committee is committed to preserving ICH traditions and empowering the game industry. It will focus on the mutual advancement of living ICH transmission and the upgrading of the game industry, systematically integrating Lingnan traditional crafts and cultural IPs with game development, operations and communication resources. Its work will promote the digital transformation, IP development, scenario-based application and market-oriented dissemination of ICH elements, with the goal of creating benchmark 'ICH + Games' projects that combine cultural depth with market vitality.

The event also featured the signing ceremony for the cross-sector initiative 'Bringing ICH to a Wider Audience.' Rastar Games and other companies signed cooperation agreements with ICH inheritors in fields such as Guangcai porcelain and Guangxiu embroidery. The parties will deepen cooperation in licensing ICH elements, co-creating content, developing IPs and transforming cultural resources into digital assets. They will work to integrate Lingnan ICH into digital scenarios such as games, animation and designer toys, make traditional heritage more relevant to younger audiences, promote creative transformation, support Guangdong's development as a strong cultural province, and bring Lingnan cultural IPs to audiences across China and around the world.

Rastar Games is committed to building a first-class cultural enterprise with distinctive Chinese characteristics. It places strong emphasis on presenting and communicating China's outstanding traditional culture, incorporating culturally distinctive themes such as the Three Kingdoms into its products. Through collaborations with Chaozhou woodcarving practitioners and the Jingzhou Museum, Rastar Games digitizes cultural relics and incorporates them into game environments. Interactive gameplay encourages players around the world to explore the cultural significance of these assets, enabling the company's products to share Chinese stories with a global audience.

One example is Rastar Games' classical-style strategy mobile game series Legend of Three Kingdoms. In collaboration with Chen Peichen, a representative inheritor of Chaozhou woodcarving - one of China's first national-level intangible cultural heritage items - Rastar Games digitized traditional woodcarving motifs such as 'Shrimp and Crab Basket' and 'A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix,' incorporating them into in-game architecture and item design. Players can learn about traditional woodcarving techniques by completing jigsaw puzzles. By integrating a thousand-year-old craft into a game, this cross-sector collaboration allows players to experience its distinctive cultural appeal and creates a bridge between games and intangible cultural heritage.

Looking ahead, Rastar Games will continue to pursue its strategic approach of 'product serialization, market internationalization, and publishing branding.' It will launch more games that embody mainstream values and positive energy and continue to explore diverse 'Games +' applications, with the aim of providing global users with higher-quality content and richer cultural and entertainment experiences.
